More Chiefs and Less Deputies

Ddg remembers that when glick was running for his first term, he degraded then Sheriff Allsop for his large staff. Allsop had a lieutenant in the jail, the patrol side, and an admin lieutenant. glick now has how lieutenants doing the job that three used to do? Can we say top heavy?

What is the price for too much management? Other than the fact that the money could be better spent employing a detention or street deputy that can actually help the citizens of Laramie County.

Remember that each management position, just like a detention or street slot has to have forty hours of certified training that is acceptable to the Wyoming Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) hours every two years to remain certified in Wyoming. So what classes do these mangers get to go to? Where are these classes? Are these classes necessary for their position or do they go for the "fun school" and not show up for the class in Las Vegas, only showing up to pick up their certificate?

What do they do with this training? Do they instruct at all or is it just an entry on their POST training record?

What about the deputies who only get the minimal amount of training necessary to maintain their certification? Do their political views play into the training that they get or do not get? Of course they do.

  1. How can Glick justify these admin positions and then beg the taxpayers for additional deputies. I talked to Patrol Sgt.s who don't have enough deputies to cover the night shifts.

Come On Laramie County wise up. Glick is so out of touch with his own Department that they want to get rid of him. Get rid of him and bring some integrity back to the office. I will quarantee you with a new Sheriff you will have more patrol officers and less Detention and Admin Lieutenant Leeches on the payroll. You want have a Public Information officer who tells you that crime is down when the statistics show it is up 25%.
