The L stands for LONGSHANKS

glick's middle initial L must stand for Longshanks. After eight years of not keeping your word and eliminating or silencing those deputies who dared to work for the best interest of the department, your true lack of character has been shown.

Those that would give you another chance to continue to tear down the department from the top down must not understand doing the same thing with the same people and expecting different results is ludicrous.

Why are there the problems? Simple. The lack of leadership from the top has now manifested itself into the managers (lieutenants), supervisors (sergeants), and workers (deputies).  Not doing the right thing has become the way that things are encouraged to be done.

How many lieutenants? You have lieutenants spending several hours a day to watch the videos of the deputies doing their jobs. No complaints or hints that a job is not being done right, just someone wasting time that they could better spend supervising sergeants.

Sergeants that spend their time playing politics, not knowing the Wyoming State Statutes, at the office more than they are on the street, and not supervising the deputies because the sergeants either do not know how to do the basic job or are too lazy to be sure the job is done right.

Finally there are deputies that need either guidance, supervision or training and not getting any. Last you have the deputies that can and would do the job, but not doing the best job that can be done has become the norm at the office, not the exception. For the deputies, who attempt on a daily basis to do the best they can for the citizens of Laramie County and being there for us without fanfare or thanks, Ddg thanks you.

  1. You have Sgt. Kevin James who sits in his office half of everyday waiting for Glick any Capt. or Lt. to walk by and will immediately step out and brown nose till his shift is over. And you have Sgt. Don Hollingshead who is the resident deputy Sgt. and K9 Sgt. but never leaves his office. Even Lt. Linda Gesell has commented that they have a station Sgt. with a department funded K9 station dog. Hollingshead is just another Kevin James. The Sgt. are also ORDERED by the command staff to watch ATLEAST 80% or the dash cam video for no reason but to watch the street deputies. Here's a novel idea, how about you try to be real Sgts and get out of the office.

  2. I had a Sheriff's Dept sergeant respnd to my business recently to handle a crime report. It became obvious that the man did not have any desire to investigate the crime, or pursue prosecution of the suspect (gave him the suspect's name). He seemed to be unaware of what crime had been committed.
I have talked to and reported crimes to other law enforcement officers before, and this sergeant's response and demeanor reminded me of a rookie officer. Very poor. How is he expected to supervise line deputies if he can't (I assume it is "can't" and not "won't")
    do the basic job?
Poor performance by line personnel and their supervisors is a direct reflection on the department head. The sheriff sets the tone for the department. The department has been declining for the past eight years.

  3. Well to the last comment, you may not know the Sgt's name but if you describe him we can point him out and hopefully get a better supervisor as soon as Glick is out of office.
