To DWUI or not to DWUI

This post is not about glick recently getting a break for DWUI. That decision is best left to the officer/deputy/trooper who makes the car stop. That is part of officer/deputy/trooper discretion and is part of the job.

What this post is about is a person in an elected position that cannot use the common sense not to drink too much and drive. That is the problem. If someone in a position of trust chooses to drink too much and drive, they are saying one of several things or all of them.

The first is "I am above the law." BS, no one is above the law. Especially if you have taken an oath to uphold the law.

The second is "I won't get caught and if I get caught, I will not get into trouble because of who I am." Again, see #1 and someone has an ego problem.

The third is "No one will get hurt." Ask an officer/deputy/trooper who has worked DWUI and they will tell you the drunk driver rarely gets hurt. Unfortunately it is usually someone else. They will also tell you that drinking drivers do not get caught the first time. Amazing how many times someone can drive DWUI without getting caught or going to jail if caught.

So what does it say about someone who chooses to drink to a point that he cannot safely drive yet does so? Ddg will leave further comments open as to this matter.

  1. I wonder how MADD would feel about this. Especially with all the look at me syndrom that Glick puts on his Deputies to get several DWUI arrests to make the streets safer, just dont do it to any vehicles leaving T-Joes. Maybe MADD should be changed to Mothers Against Drunk Danny.

  2. Shame on Laramie County for allowing their
"elected Sheriff" to continously break the law by drving drunk from his favorite watering hole TJoes. Just this year alone he has been pulled over by the Highway Patrol twice for DWI, and allowed to drive home (drunk) because of who he is. What is going to happen when he kills an entire family driving drunk? Danny Glick belongs in Rehab or jail, not re-elected as Laramie County Sheriff.

  3. And when approached by a fellow officer about the DUI stop, the trooper denied. Later learned that the trooper and Danny were friends and he couldn't do that to a friend of his! Blue code of silence. If it is found that the stop did take place AND the trooper did not arrest him then the trooper needs to be fired. If anyone else was stopped and found too intoxicated to drive, THEY WOULD BE ARRESTED! More of Danny's good-ole-boy mentality!

  4. I would like everyone to ask Pam and Danny how many times they have been stopped leaving T-Joes (or any other drinking establishment) and were A) let go or B) driven home. Ask them to tell you HONESTLY!

All you "so-called" Danny supporters or friends, why do you not demand these two get some help for this problem. IF you are their friends, you know this is going on, on a daily basis. I don't know why, as their friends you don't step up and say, "Enough is enough, get yourself some help". Oh, I forgot, she has been several times but just can't seem to kick the habit.

Glad NONE of you are my friends. Friends DON'T let friends drink and drive.
