Wyoming Supreme Court Decision

The Wyoming Supreme Court (WSC) issued a ruling today (032812) regarding the case of former Laramie County Deputy Sheriff Ken Cook. Read the whole decision on the Wyoming Supreme Court web page. Look under Supreme Court Decisions.

WSC:
"We agree with the district court that the record does not substantiate the sheriff's findings that there was sufficient cause to terminate Deputy Cook's employment with the sheriff's office.

We therefore, affirm the district court's reversal of the sheriff's decision."

Slam (by Judge Fenn) and dunk (by the WSC), the judicial system got it right. Of course Ddg suspects the local "media" will ignore and/or bury this story from the voters.

Okay, now let's see how much this illegal firing will cost the tax payers of Laramie County for retaining and promoting staff incapable of handling a simple personnel problem, and for re-electing a sheriff who doesn't recognize the weaknesses of  his own staff. Cook should collect every cent that he can on this one.

  1. I'm glad to see Ken won. It's funny how his low budget Attorney won it all for him but my Law Office ran scared. Good job Ken, Take Glick and the county that elected him for all you deserve.

  2. Way to go Ken. Take the sheriff, and his staff, for everything you can. You and your family deserve it. Sean, if it's not too late you should file for an appeal. God knows you deserve it too.

  3. Everyone hopes that Ken will get a BIG settlement for what he was put through. Lets give Sheriff Glick a big applause and also Lt. Gessell for running the department into the ground. Make the incompetant admin. accountable.

  4. I read the Wyoming Supreme Court's decision. It stops just short of saying "Who's the idiot that made the decision to terminate Deputy Cook". It's nice to see that someone in this state has not been compromised by his royal slickness. Let's hope they make the damages punitive so it has to come straight out of his pocket instead of the good taxpayers of Laramie County having to pay it. Let's also hope that this is brought up again in two years when it's election time.

  5. I bet Sean would be more than happy to testify in a civil suit. Ken knows how to get a hold of him.

  6. All I can say is get the FOP and the legal coverage. Use one of the true cop law firms in the Denver area. Don't waste your time with WoodhouseRoden. Based on Deb Roden's words and actions, nothing will convince me Glick didn't have words with them. And don't even think the FOP officals at LCSD will have the stones to stand up and do anything. DH Is one of the biggest bun boys over there.

    1. I know Sean was asked many times to go to the Denver team that handled Ben Peech's lawsuit but he felt confident in his attorney. Just goes to show you that if "they" are close enough for Danny to get to them, he will, he does and he proved he can. Next time, hire the Denver attorney's right off the bat and save yourself the heartache!

  7. Now Glick is going after Pine Bluffs PD??? When is DCI going to step in and look at Glick going to the strip club for sexual favors and driving home drunk from T-Joes. Maybe DDG needs to light a fire under someone higher up the food chain.
