So now, once your twenty years are in, you are no doubt called up to a departmental gathering before your peers to be honored and given a reminder of your twenty years of service to Laramie County. Twenty years that included running towards the bad guys instead of away from them, time spent away from family because law enforcement does not take a holiday, and dealing with situations that every day people would not have the ability, courage or stomach to handle.
You are thanked for your service and spoken of well by the administration that puts on these gatherings.
NO, it doesn't happen that way unless you are connected. Seems as though a street deputy that recently got his twenty years in also got a notice to check in at the front desk. There he received an empty award box from a records clerk to commemorate his twenty years. longshanks and his staff must have been too busy to give the empty award box to the deputy in person. Talk about an embarrassing lack of leadership abilities, but in this administration, that is nothing new.

Not really nice to hear that things haven't changed in several years. Of course when you have an ass like Glick in charge, what do you expect?
ReplyDeleteShort Story.
Several years ago I went over one of those milestones. No one had said anything to me about it beforehand,so I unfortunately presumed something would be done on my anniversary date. It came and went without any type of a thank you, etc. from my sergeant, lieutenant, or captain. Nada, zilch.
Fast forward several months. A connected (politically)guy says to me in the hallway words to the efect of your anniversary date is coming up. With a straight face I say "XXXX, but that was last year." So I get to watch XXXX beating feet down the hallway into the admin section. Yeah, I got a laugh out of it.
After that, I get notified that my years of service will be noted. So when that happens, Glick stands up next to me and can't say one word about anything I have done. Not even a bland good job type comment. He could not be a professional and give credit to someone who did not support him politically, but was considered a good street deputy. He just stands there with that stupid smile on his face until being rescued by a long silence. Of course he and the staff leave the area immediately.
So Danny, you have been, currently are, and will continue to be an ass wipe for the rest of your life. It does suck to be you.
It happened to Sgt. Lopez too. So it's nothing new with that idiot Glick. It took one deputy to go out and pay for a cake with his own money and the shift to treat the man right. Glick has no clue and never has.
ReplyDeleteSomething Wyoming Cops dont realize is that in other States and cities, Cops are loved, respected, held in extremly high esteem, constantly trained and updated, and treated fairly by their command staff. Laramie Co. and Cheyenne city cops will not know that being a cop is a time honored career, financially compensated for their dedication, and honored by the county and cites they work for. I see the winds of change blowing into Cheyenne, and Danny will find himself in Federal Prison ( like a few other Sheriffs) Arizona and California to name a few, for all the crimes he has commintted, and the lackeys that cover up and make excuses for his crimes will most likely share a cell with him. Lets see how his dim witted smile looks while dressed in a prison jumpsuit. Every dog has his day, and Karma sucks huge
